From the bowels of the underworld, you can hear the echoes of this devilish saxophone combo that has starred in the hottest tour of 2018 with their debut album «Roasted Sinner». The sound of the Averno has its roots in the R&B of the sixties and cooks up its own songs; it rumbles through your eardrums and hammers your hips until you surrender to the ecstasy of its rhythms and you can not help but dance and dance.
Today they ascend again from the Averno to present a new single produced by Santi «Sweetfingers», under Happy Place Records, that includes two absolute hits that will make your hips even more restless. Both songs include the magnificent voice and guitar of the Galician bluesman Adrián Costa (Los Reyes del KO, The Criers …). The new member of the band that joins the well-known Averno family formed by Dani Niño (The Limboos, OGUN afrobeat …), Ariel Brínguez (Chucho Valdés, Javier Colina …) and Luis Verde (El Niño Josele, Jerry González … ) saxophones, Chavi Ontoria (Freedonia, Shirley Davis …) keyboards and Miguel Benito «PT» (Gatos Bizcos, Xoel López …) drums.
You may have heard of them as the greatest guest wind-section, but I assure you that you will not have tasted the true flames of the Averno until you see them live.
LOS SAXOS DEL AVERNO were born as a stratospheric quartet of saxophones that accompanied the rock group Ginferno.
Together, they won the prize for ‘Best Album of World Music’ in the «VI Awards of Independent Music 2014», and toured throughout Spain as one of the bands selected at «Girando Por Salas».
In 2015, they began to collaborate as a guest metal section with other fantastic groups, such as The Limboos at the Funtastic Drácula Carnival, or on albums by the likes of Andrés Herrera “Pájaro”, «He matado al Ángel» «Somewhere somehow» by Julián Maeso, the latest CD «Motel llamado mentira» by Vinila Von Bismark and many others…
Motivated by all these projects, they decided to ascend from the Averno to consolidate as an independent band and start making their own music. A sort of cavernous R&B, flambéed with Latin touches and high doses of Rock that will shatter the soles of your shoes before each concert ends.
